Blending neoclassical composition with ambient textures, live looping and spatial sound, her music unfolds somewhere between intimacy and orchestral scale. Inspired by the natural world and her travels, Lacharme's compositions move fluidly between stillness and intensity, drawing listeners through shifting atmospheres that feel both deeply personal and universally evocative. Her debut album Dérives explores themes of turbulence, hope and our changing relationship with the world around us, earning praise for its originality and emotional depth. Working alongside longtime creative collaborator Bastien Raute, Cécile has developed an immersive live performance in which music, spatial sound and lighting are conceived as a single artistic experience. Together they have created a distinctive performance that envelops audiences while remaining centred on the expressive power of the cello. Alongside her solo work, Cécile has collaborated with artists including Queens of the Stone Age, Hoshi, Waxx, Snorri Hallgrímsson and Coline Rio, while also performing at prestigious venues and festivals across Europe, Canada and Australia. In 2025 she opened for Zaho de Sagazan's Symphonique concerts at the Zénith de Nantes and Paris's Grand Palais, before supporting Joep Beving on the European release tour for Dérives. Represented by LittleBig Agency throughout Europe (excluding France), Cécile Lacharme is rapidly establishing herself as one of the most compelling new voices in contemporary instrumental music.
